I have a new L4701 with about 10 hours on it and my Oil Pressure light came on today. I let it cool down and checked the oil (on a level surface) about 20 minutes after I shut it down, but the oil level looks good... I'll check the oil again later this afternoon just to make sure it's plenty cooled off, but besides that, any ideas?

Chaz, it seems like I can remember someone mentioning this issue for the Lxx01 tractors, but I can't locate tne thread. Maybe someone else will remember. I imagine first thing in the morning you'll want to call your dealer. It would be great if I could remember if it was a do not drive until resolved issue, or a no big deal some sensor is out of whack issue. Sorry :(

I would check the wire going to the oil pressure sensor to see if it has gotten rubbed off and is touching metal. I had mine come off, I was using the tractor in the wood and I think a sapling caught it and pulled it off.

Yeah, thanks guys, I'm thinking it is probably the sensor as well. I checked the oil one more time at dusk when it was cold, and it was fine, but I'll give the dealer a call today and ask them about it before I run it again just to be safe. I have a lot of stuff I need to get done!

OK. Issue resolved. Kubota of Culpeper, VA guy came out almost as soon as I hugn up the phone this morning, and took a look. Oil pressure was fine. Looks like I snagged the little connector with a stick which triggered the light :-/ So I lost all day on a beautiful Sunday. Booo! but at least it's nothing serious. :)
