Hello-

can someone tell me what the spec is for fuel line/tube on an L4701 where it comes out of the top of the tank and runs to the filter?

i guess a mouse chewed through mine. I found it on messics but it’s out of stock and doesn’t list any info other than fuel tube.
Thanks in advance!

Well, that’s disappointing, but looks like you have enough undamaged remaining to get a rough measurement on length, cut a chunk out to take to an auto parts supply that sells fuel line by the foot to match up, and whatever length you need buy about a foot longer section of hose. I’m all about Kubota OEM but unless someone here knows different, nothing special about fuel line rated for diesel.

Agreed. I got lucky here- I have some extensive use planned this weekend at my farm and I'll be working on a timeline- I just by chance got it out to bushog a little yesterday to kill some time. Otherwise this would have happed before sunup saturday AM lol. Lesson learned- before I have any big work scheduled on a weekend- I'll be doing a full check the week before.
As far as taking it to an auto parts store- That's the plan- but it would be nice to know the spec for myself because there are no markings on the OEM hose. I had some spare fuel line at home and I put it on to get back to the barn, but It didn't fit as snugly- making me think there may be minor differences, or it could just be that it was old.

On another note- The tractor ran just fine for around 20 minutes before I noticed the leak. How did that happen? Does it pull fuel from somewhere else, or was I still burning fuel from the filter. Can't understand how I never got air in the system and how it kept running....

That is the return line. Fuel is pulled from bottom of tank.

That makes so much more sense. Thank you for the help.
No worries.

Looking at it, you may be able to reroute the line and it will reach the tank. Until proper length can be installed.

Go to a Kubota dealer, a whole raft of similar vintage models probably use the same size, they might have a whole roll of it and sell it to you by the foot. Call Coleman's or Aldermans. They ship stuff.
