Whats up everyone, getting ready to do a little TLC on the L4400 and have a few questions. What kind of motor oil does it take and how much? What kind of hydraulic fluid does it take and how much? Wanting to change both, have seen 15w-40 on the oil with 8 liters, and seen the hydraulic fluid to use is the SUTD2, but I am unsure on how much I will need once the system is drained. Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Get a diesel rated motor oil. The weight depends on your location. I use 15W-40 all year in southeastern Washington state. Have about eight quarts on hand and pick up a filter. Kubota SUDT2 is highly recommended if you have an HST transmission. The quantity will depend upon your transmission. It will take ten to twelve gallons. You should grab a hydraulic filter. If you have the HST transmission grab a filter for that, too. https://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/8/5/1858-kubota-l4400.html

You can look in the OP"s manual or the WSM to get an approximate level of each But use the dipsticks and or sight glasses to set the proper levels.

Are far as oil type or weight that's really based on you, full synthetic or semi synthetic are both fine and weight is based more on your temps in your location.

Trans / hydraulic fluid is SUDT2 ( Kubota branded) other fluid is not 100% compatible with OEM specs.

Filters are more important than the fluid in my opinion, Kubota, or only other high Quality filters should be used.
If it's an HST then only Kubota filters for the HST filter.
