I have obtained a used L39 and am preforming checkout and maintenance. The new looking hyd oil dip stick is not the same as pictured in the manual. Adding 2 qts of oil made only a slight "dot"on the bottom of the stick. It is 13 & 3/8 inches long to the plastic bottom. A 3rd qt of oil made the "dot 'a definite indication of oil to there. An 18 inch plastic wire tie indicated about 3 inches of oil was in the transmission below the bottom of the stick. Could someone with an L39 check their stick length and impart the length please.

I don't know about your tractor specifically. Compact tractors seem to hold five or six GALLONS of transmission oil. Your owner's manual should give the capacity. That is probably why adding a quart made little impact.
