Looking for a loader to install on a L285. Anyone have documentation or advice on mounting points, hydraulic connections, etc.

You will need to find a Kubota L1200 front end loader for your 40 year old tractor - not saying it is like finding a needle in a haystack - more like finding the needle on ........... MARS !!!
Rather than buy the chickens ....... your best bet is to buy the farm in this case.
Search all around your area for a tractor WITH a loader and then perhaps sell your machine. I know this may not be what you want to hear but finding a loader ..... the subframe ..... the hydraulic linkage...... the hoses and all the rest will be very hard to do.
You may find that even iF'n you had a loader on that tractor - without the 4 wd drive - you may find it to be PITA to move since a FEL full will take a good bit off the rear tires, unless of course you place a good deal of ballast on the 3 point. Your 2 wd machine will be fighting for traction. Does that have power steering? If not - that too will add to the fun!

Thanks Hockie. If there is one on Mars maybe Perseverance will find it. I inherited this tractor, was my dad’s and sat on my brothers property for about 20 yrs after he ran it out of fuel. I remember when I was a kid before I had a drivers license I would take the tractor several miles down the road to the ice house to buy a soda and can of Copenhagen. That was the late 70’s. Fast forward to today......got it running with new fuel lines, filters, oil, and new tires on front end. I’ve only got a couple hundred bucks in it and it’s still a great little tractor. I think I’ll hold on to it.
Maybe try to install a Koyker but know a new one will be expensive.....waiting for quote from manufacture. I don’t plan to do much heavy lifting........just a few loads from compost pile to garden plot.
If that fails, I still have two teenage boys and a collection of long handle shovels.
If you won't need to lift anything very high a dirt scoop or carry all on the 3 point might get it done. I bought a 500 dollar loader from a Belarus 250 that had been sitting in the trees for 15 years . I haven't gotten around to getting a sub frame fabbed for it.
If I did find a loader, how do you tap into the hydraulic system? The pressure line block under the seat? I think I may have read on another thread that the block cover has to be changed out. Koyker indicated if we can’t tap into the block then we could tap into the pressure line with compression fittings.
