L2650f pto clutch

I have a L2650F, my clutch is a dual stage and the PTO grinds and will not disengage when completely depressed. The transmission gears 1,2,3,4 work fine, just the PTO problem. I have seen adjustments online for different types of tractors, but not Kubota L2650 specific. Are there adjustments for this problem on the L2650? My serial# is 10036 1991 model. I have already tried adjusting the turnbuckle. there is only 850 hours on this tractor. Any help would be greatly appreciated, My closest Kubota dealer is about 40 miles away. The Kubota dealer in Memphis Tn lost there franchise about a year ago, over large tractor sales. What was Kubota thinking?

Mickey, welcome to the forum. You did not mention if you just acquired the tractor or had it for a while.

On some of the older tractors with two-stage clutches there was a lever just above the clutch peddle that flipped up/down with a spring to hold it in place to lock out the second stage of the clutch. If this lever is in the down position your clutch will not engage the second stage and therefor your PTO will grind when trying to engage. Make sure this is not your problem.

I can not confirm if there is an opening to adjust that clutch. I wouldn't guess there is, but you need the Workshop Manual for that tractor to discover how to adjust.

If you have to separate the tractor to repair, I would take the clutch assy. to a local clutch rebuilder.

I had that problem with a D6206 Deutz tractor. I took the clutch to a rebuilder and he rebuilt the disc and set it up, ready to install. A Deutz dealer told me there is no way he can do that correctly! That was about 6-7 years ago a the tractor works better then ever!

Here is an page from the manual (I'll send you a link to download the whole manual) to adjust the clutch.

The hole to adjust it is under a elbow pipe bolted to the side of the case.

If you have a loader, a lot of the subframes cover the hole.

I have had this tractor since new. I don’t won’t to assume on this one but I m going to attach photo just to make sure this is the correct cover to remove for the adjusting.
