I bought a used MX-5200 and it has Kubota rear remote hydraulics. But the quick disconnects seem to have no way to release them? They are female fittings and once you plug male ends them? what? Are they breakaways? By just pulling on them they release? THat is all I can figure?

That is exactly what they are, breakaway couplers. It is easier to remove if you push the hose end in and pull out all in one quick motion, in-out.

Mounting female couplers into this should make them break away, hoses move locking rings stationary.

Thanks, do you buy a special type male end?
Any 1/2” male end (iso5675) should work. There are a few different styles, (ball or poppet) that claim to easier to connect/disconnect under pressure depending.....
The breakaway feature works great when you forget to unplug them 😳 and drive away...... A hose on one implement was not quite long enough to make a sharp turn in one direction, that break away has saved me a few times till I had the time to get a longer hose made up.
