My M7060 is an open station with a 4 speed transmission with high/low range. (8 speed)

The problem is that a bolt came out of the linkage that connects the high/low range shifter to the linkage to the transmission. There are 2 bolts on that connection, 1 is gone and the other is loose. It is stuck in low now and I can't shift to high range.

The location of the linkage, with the missing bolt, is down under the transmission shifter. I can see it from above but can't get to it from the top. I also can't get to it from underneath.

It's a simple fix but I can't get to it. What is the easiest way to get to that part?

Thanks

On my M9 open station, the high-low range shifter is mounted through the seat pan on the left side of the seat and the linkage is accessible by removing the left hand wheel and tire assembly and then removing the inner fender access panel. Not sure if your is similar but that is how you access mine. You can 'see' mine as well but the only way to get to the linkage is like I stated above.

Maybe yours is the same, maybe not.

If range selector linkage on M7060 is similar to my M7040 it will be located on RH side of seat requiring removal of RH wheel to access linkage.

RH or LH, they both require removal of the appropriate wheel assembly and the inner fender access panel. Not a hard job unless the tire is loaded or the assembly has the cast center section, then, weight comes into play. Been there done that. Removal is a 2 person job or the use of a cherry picker plus blocking that side of the tractor up securely.

Thanks for the replies.

Got it fixed. I had to remove part of the console and loader joystick. luckily the console was not 1 piece so I only had to remove part of it. That made it easily accessible. Once that was done the missing bolt was easily replaced using Loctite on both bolts. Not a hard job at all. The hardest part was driving to the hardware to get the replacement bolt.

Didn't know any open station Kubota has a console, only the cab models I thought.

Maybe I used the wrong terminology but the controls are surrounded by a gray plastic covering . I called that the console. Maybe it has a more official Kubota name.

got in here late but you got it, was going to suggest pulling the plastic off the right side and access it there. Have done a couple of them same issue.

Really? If I followed your instructions & removed LH wheel/tire & then determined that was incorrect & I needed to remove RH wheel/tire I'd think the difference between LH & RH was very important even more important than the difference in the terminology of console or plastic housing.

Whatsup with the guys on here who look for ways to critique the other guys on here ... Everyone is trying to just give a helping hand....

TxJim,.... Flip specifically SAID “Maybe yours is the same, maybe not”. ... And he also said “RH or LH... the appropriate wheel assembly...”.

If you “followed his instructions”.... you wouldn’t remove the wrong wheel.

Are we so bored we’re cruising the Forums just to find Fault with friends...?? Or are we just argumentative.....?? Jeesh..

Duh.... If the lever was on the right on my M9, then the right wheel and access panel would have to be removed (the right side does happen to house the draft control linkage and pto micro switches. In my case it's on the left and necessitates removal of the LH wheel/tire and panel (unless you possess real tiny hands ) that is...

Has to be the election. Tension on the suspension.... I'' be glad when it's November 4th or 5th.
