For the last couple of weeks i have noticed that the glow plug light does not stay on for for more then 1 or 2 seconds and if you shut the key off and turn back on the light does not illuminate on the 2nd on cycle.
I have also noticed the tractor is much harder to start then before. Any thoughts on whar component might be causing this?

The automatic glowplug system uses coolant temperature, a multi-function controller, timer, and a relay for the glow plugs - which have variable heat output. Very handy system when its working right.

If it not working normally, the controller may be at fault, but its best to diagnose with the Workshop Manual before replacing $pendy parts.

I found that exercising the plug-ins under the instrument panel sometimes cleans up its act.

It would be worth your time trying this Kubota mechanic trick which works on some models to give you manual control over GP on time. It definitely works on my M7040.

The trick is to put the shuttle shift lever in forward and turn the key to the start position. Depress clutch as normal.

You may hear a relay click on. Maybe not.

If very cold out, I count to 10, put the shuttle back into the neutral position and start the engine. Nothing will show on the dash while the GP's are being manually controlled. Use less time if it is not too cold.

You will know immediately if it works as the engine fires instantly.

The weird buzzer is an intentional feature to let you know it's ready to turn the key. Mine made the noise normally - but the light would come on when running. Unplugging/plugging connectors improved it.

I didn't see a buzzer in the wiring schematic.
Kind of thought it might be a relay chattering but if yours is the same i guess its nothing to worry about.

Do you know how to get the dash panel off on the L48?
