hi i was going along and stopping to get off every so often , and got back on started to back up and it shut down. i tried to start it and it started aan shut down two times and then it just turns over but wont start.

I was gonna say "out of fuel" or low enough some condensation sloshed over and now the filter bowl is full of water. I'd take a clear glass bowl and open the filter bowl and catch what is in the filter to see if there's fuel or if there's water. Then open the fuel valve to see if there's good free-flow fuel to the filter.

You can test every switch on the tractor if you 1.) have an understanding what it does and 2.) where it is. A multimeter would be very handy and an almost necessity but could be thoughtfully done otherwise. wiring schematic should be something on every owners reference shelf.

if the seat switch is bad will it still turn over , it did a couple puffs and then nothing ,just turns over no start
