A really basic question from a newbie tractor maintainer. This implement seems to have been manufactured by McDonnell for Kubota. McDonel have given me the part number for the Hydraulic filter which is 4.8401045 and quoted me £78 which is crazy! Is it okay to put on any hydraulic filter on that fits the thread?

Have you tried to “cross reference” that part number from a different manufacturer?

Although, I have seen situations where there are 2 different filters for the same engine, (Older Fords?) I don’t know if you can just trust the fact that it threads on and seals.

There could be a “flow issue”.

Personally, if I couldn’t find a “guaranteed alternative”, I don’t think I would risk it.
