$85 is pretty steep for a lightly modified $25 Quick Grip clamp. That said, not everyone can modify a standard QG and not everyone has the strength to connect quick connect fittings without struggling. For now and the foreseeable future I just use my hands, but if I couldn’t make something similar and had a lot of difficulty attaching quick connects, I wouldn’t hesitate to drop $85 on a chance it would solve a real problem.

I would say it should work great for you, Irwin makes nice tools.
I have a bunch of their clamps and not a one has failed me.

Built my first clamp 30 years ago for B20 backhoe coupler and flatface couplers on grapple. B20 coupler was just awkward to reach.
You can buy just metal clips from Xboom if you have the clamp.
Technique helps to use just hands 90% of the time. Gently use a clamp to help 10%. I’m at the age of working smarter not harder is necessary.

Susan , my apologies didn't mean to offend . WHen you go to remove a implement put what ever stands or base needed to support the implement then shut the tractor off . Wait a minute then move your control levers back & forth some to bleed off any pressure that's still in the lines . After this then try removing your couplers , they should be some easier now with that pressure removed .

Ah….no offense taken, none at all. I’m often a lurker and have learned so much from you guys. I appreciate all input.

I have one of these, and am a "strapping" 44yo male (if one wants to consider age/gender/strength regarding need for this). Yes, the price is a bit steep and I struggled to place the order, but haven't regretted it at all - the flat face couplings on my grapple will go on by hand every once in a while, but most of the time I use the x-boom. It still requires some effort at times with the clamp, but far easier than by hand.

It may be cheaper to get one of the Waite tools to remove pressure, but they're still expensive and I personally figured i may still want/need something to help make the connection.
