I have a new Kubota tractor and implements, i looked into insurance for theft and my insurance people are quoting $ 1000.00 per year. Has anyone heard of a more reasonable insurance company?

Mine is though Intact. They were the only company my broker could find to cover it. I believe I'm paying $260ish a year.

Personal use only, not commercial. I can still drive it down the road to do work at the neighbor's but for trade only. 😉

I think the going rate is around $100 per $10K insured value. Tractors usually go under your home/farm policy. Call around to your local mutual farm insurance companies for competitive quotes. Your insurance rates depend on where you live.

I'm 'assuming' it's covered under my house policy, same as my lawn mower and 15 year old TV. I still haven't got a 'covid19' cheque from them though......

i'm in Ontario, i understand every province may be different......

I'm at about 460/yr for the tractor, for replacement value (fire theft etc) It had to be combined with a commercial business policy however. I did (well, best to cya) need the commercial portion because i use it for deliveries and some landscaping work.
The liability (even personal) nor damage was not covered under my home owners policy.
In ontario from what i could find, you don't need insurance to operate on the public roads.
OP, my policy is with Wawanesa.
Good luck.
