Does anyone know if I need to bleed the hydraulic system when installing a new log splitter? I think I'll need to add fluid but do I need to bleed it too? Any other advice might help too.

No, you don't need to bleed. Some cylinders have "air-valves" and the normal ones get rid of the air when you move it several times out and back. The air will carried in small bubbles with the oil in the tank and disapear...

Give us some info if your tractor is useable for log-splitting and what hydraulics do you use?
