I have been using a 4x8 trailer behind my Kubota, and although it handled it fine, it is too big of a trailer for the size tractor, and some of the places I want to take it. So, after spending a couple of years wanting an off-road trailer to pull behind my atv (www.mountaingoattrailers.com), I decided to use my new welder and build one. It is 3 x 5'6", with 10" sides. The springs have some crazy arch to them, and with the 12" tires, it sits plenty high. I acquired the axle, springs, and tongue for free, so I don't have much invested in it. It tracks about the same width as both my atv and tractor, so it will fit into tight places.

Nice trailer, my one has fallen to the side three times and is now broken and I do not know if I will fix it. I think about a hydraulic lifted trailer. But no time to build...

For what do you need this trailer, I ask because of the low sidewalls.

Moving hay bales and firewood, mostly. Today I moved bushels of potatoes to the cellar. I don't need to move dirt or mulch with it. I have other tools for that. But, I needed a tough, nimble trailer to use both behind the Kubota and my 4 wheeler. I could have just as easily made taller sides, but 10" seemed fine to me.
I loaded the trailer with firewood yesterday, and brought it down off the ridge behind the house. For what it's worth, I had enough wood on the trailer that I had to use 4WD, so that the trailer didn't push the tractor down the hill (in 2WD, the tractor was sliding). So, if I had taller sides, I would load more wood, and I would probably push the limits of the 7100...
