I have both hydraulic turning and chute deflection on my front mounted Kubota snow blower, and the turning function is controlled by the loader joy stick. I had a separate valve for operating the deflector, however, that valve somehow got misplaced. I would like to use just the loaders dump valve to control both, however, I don't recall the type of solenoid valve that I need to get. Any suggestions how to set this up, since both the hydraulic motor turns both ways, and the cylinder on the chute is a double acting cylinder. Pictures are from eons ago, when I first did this modification. thanks

You can do it with a diverter valve, you could do a temporary (diverted, normally off) to swap from spin to deflector as you move the deflector very little compared to spin.
Or you could do a locking diverter so every push of a button will swap function (kind of a pain IMHO).

EDIT: Same valve as Dave posted.

Is this a momentary switched valve...

also, any suggestions on how to add a momentary push button control to my loader joy stick?

Thanks Dusty..
It's a monetary (spring to center valve).
There are companies that sell joystick handles, with switches in them, sorry don't know any off hand.

If you want to make things simpler, just get a third function kit, it will have everything you need to make it work. ;)

Thanks... I ordered the valve, and found a discount code on their "twitter" page, that brought the valve down to $107.55 from $125.20 which was 14.10% discount, and also got free shipping. Ordered some fittings to go with the valve to hook up the hoses, and all totaled, it cost me $138 plus having to buy some hoses to hook everything up.
Any suggestions where to find inexpensive premade quality hoses? Still haven't come up with a solution to the switch installation. I will probably wind up cobbling something up from spare parts.

You can often find pre assembled hyd. hose at your local farm supply store. They usually have 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" in even one foot lengths at very reasonable prices.

I'm guessing you'll use 1/4" hose.

Wherever you purchase hose, be sure to blow it out with air before assembling to be sure so debris from cutting/assy is left inside. You don't want any small hose, metal pieces in you hyd. system!!

I think you will find that the valve is in one position when powered and the other when not powered. i.e. not momentary

The clear plastic where the 12 volt wire goes in has a light inside to show you when it is powered.
