Hi everybody, appologies for the long post

I have a leak at the hydraulic fluid strainer (filter). It seems to leak from the inner o-ring seal, between the transmission housing and the suction pipe to the pump. Today I replaced the two o-rings and the leak is still there (about drop/5sec). Has anyone had experience with a similar problem?

While replacing the o-rings I checked the surfaces of the housing, suction pipe, and strainer for damage, but they all appear smooth. The threads on the screen and housing seem fine.
I noticed however 2 possible issues:
1. The suction pipe hole does no allign perfectly with the hole in the housing, and I could not thread-in the screen freely. The hole on the pipe was 1/4 inch forwad off the hole in the housing and also twisted out about 10 degrees (like 10 deg. negative camer on a car wheel). I had to force the pipe backwards and carefully thread the screen.
2. The o-rings seemed skinny, it seemed to me that the grooves in the suction pipe could accomodate a thicker o-ring.

Finally I have a B1600 (grey market) and I ordered the o-rings for a B8200 as I was told they were the same.

Has anyone done the oil screen cleaning and noticed similar issues.

Thanks..

If you think a larger o-ring would be better then go for it! The tube should fit better than you describe. that kind of stress is what leads to cracked fittings. I'd be trying to find where that suction tube is bent! It will be very hard to get that inside o-ring in properly if you need to pry the tube 1/4" and twist it at the same time!

Thanks for the reply eserv.

Have you serviced the hydraulic screen and if so, did the pipe allign well with the hole in the tranny case? On my tractor the suction pipe is end to end metal and has a complex shape (bend) by design. I don't see any signs of damage on it so I am trying to determine if it is designed to allign perfectly or not, before I buy a replacement.

Thx again.
