Been getting good information from this site for a while, but I couldn't find anything directly related to my current concerns with my L345DT.
My idiot light came on for oil pressure so I checked with a good mechanical gauge and to my relief it was not low so the sender was bad. However it did seem high, it was 65psi at idle and 85psi at 2000rpm after warming up (70 to 100 when cool) I left the mechanical gauge stuck to the dash with a magnet while working the tractor for a while and noticed that when it got hot the pressure would drop to the exaxt operating range of 45(idle)-65(2000rpm), but if not working the tractor (just moving about the property) it would cool some and go back up to the higher pressurs again.
Is this an oil issue? I am using rotella 15w-40 and we will be heading into -20deg weather. The manual said to use 10w-30, but everyone around here runs the 15w-40 in thier diesels. Should i use rotellas 10w-30 synth blend?
Also does anyone have an oil flow schematic? I checked the relief on the oil filter block and it seemed fine, but does that actually regulate pressure or is it just a bypass for a cloged filter situation?
Thanks
