Went to lube the FEL after 4 hrs of moving snow and the grease is a tad bit thick. Wonder if the wife will complain if I keep it in the laundry room to thaw out?

My wife said she wouldn't mind if you thawed out your grease gun in your laundry room. And if wanted to thaw out my grease gun in our laundry room, I wouldn't have to ask my wife if it was OK.

I rarely use the stuff myself because I’m cheap*... but one of the advantages of most synthetic grease is “flowability” or “pumpability” in cold temps... soo ... if you have to deal with low temps a lot... Mobilgrease 28 is a favorite of mine if synthetic is your choice. It’s good enough for the Air Force and Navy so it works for me. (Certified for roller bearings, plain bearings, sliding bearings, screwjacks, water-resistance.... google it... good stuff.... not cheap.)

*I’ve got so many different types machinery, some which have special grease requirements.... I usually have a separate grease-gun/grease-type assigned to each.... and I painted the guns colors to identify the purpose... black for Moly... Green for marine... Blue for aircraft... (My Orange Grease Gun has general purpose lithium for the two machines it serves....😉

I have to assume your tractor doesn't have a cab, otherwise the greasegun WOULD be warm.....
3 of my tractors ar ein a warm garage, wife's new car is 'enjoying the fresh air'.

Mobil 28 is the grease of choice for GE switchgear as well. It stinks like rotten fish, but you are absolutely correct. Just as soft cold as it is warm. Can't burn the stuff with a blow torch. It just kinda evaporates and turns in to a little bit of white ash. It is good for bearings, bushings, and sliding parts, too. It just REALLY stinks.
