So, still playing around a little with my one week old L4060, up to 3 hours now! Anyway, if I'm using auto-throttle and cruising along with my speed around 5-6mph, I hit the cruise control button all the way forward and down...the cruise screen briefly appears, showing what percentage i'm pressing down on the pedal, and the green Cruise lights up in the dash. Once I take my foot off the HST pedal, though, the throttle basically returns to idle or just about idle, and the speed drops to just 1-2mph.

Cruise works fine when Auto-throttle is off and using the manual throttle. Is that just the way it works?

Thanks

Cruise control is tied to your engine RPM. No need to take auto throttle off, just manually bring your rpm's up using the manual throttle. Yours is working as it should.

Thanks. I just assumed it would be 'smart' enough to hold the RPMs generated by the foot pedal. No big deal, cruise would be used with a PTO implement anyway which would require manual throttle.

It would seem to be a pretty sophisticated cruise control in that you can get repeatable velocities from the readout on the panel. Yes it works in manual and not auto throttle. I have only used while mowing and so rpm set for 540 pto, then choose the travel speed you want and then push the button. It will do whatever it needs to to keep that velocity.

I think its capabilities would come in handy if you wanted to spread seed or fertilizer evenly.

My only complaint is there is no resume button to recall your previous speed. My Case 55C had both a resume and also allowed you to store a preset speed in memory which was nice.
