this rtv x900 was fully submerged in water for some time. it has been a project getting the water drained and fluids changed. it is fortunate none of the machine's fluids were milkshake. as you would figure the electrical is a concern. the alternator, starter and fan motor were all boat anchors. i have a 900 for spare parts, yeah, and now i turn the key the dash lights up, the engine cranks. very cool. i need to go through the wiring and clean every connector.. i have a wiring diagram for a 900 but the wire colors are different making it a chore to run down problems. some of the stuff on the x900 are not on the 900. can someone point me in a direction to get a wiring diagram ? , till i can invest in a WSM?

Once you get the terminals cleaned up, spray them with a product called PDRP by Spray-On, a Sherwin Williams company. PDRP is a fancy way of saying cosmoline, the stuff that the government sprays on anything that they want to be waterproof. I have a friend that uses it extensively on his ocean-going sailboat to keep the wires from shorting out or corroding in the saltwater environment.

Nice save! Did that salvage on a boat once, and I had to change the oil 4 times to get clear oil.

Do yourslef a BIG favour.remove and replace ALL the wiring. sooner or later, corrosion will set in and 'weird' things will happen, hoepfully NOT 23 miles into the bush in dead of winter.
Sure 'looks' fine now... everything works..now.......
