Is it better to keep my fuel tank full with treated fuel in the winter or is it ok to leave it partially filled and use an additive

Fill it up to reduce condensation and add the additive.

Hokie speak much truth. I fill my tank after each use (within reason) whenever possible to keep the humid air pushed out. Would be nice if manufacturers put a desiccant filter on the tank vent.

In the winter I don't worry about condensation in my fuel tank, because the cold winter weather is usually very dry. In the 16+ years that I owned my BX22, I never had a fuel issue, and I rarely ever refueled it until it dropped down to a 1/4 tank on the fuel gauge. I never had water in the fuel, never had fungus in the fuel, and I always gave the fuel a good splash of white Power Service. My tractor lived outside in a canvas garage, and the block heater was plugged in if we were expecting snow, and it always started. I only sold it because the BX23S was better suited for my lifestyle as I age. It is a lot easier to change the snowblower to the plow after a snowstorm, and the Curtis Deluxe cab is a world apart from the old Curtis soft canvas with plastic windows. As I age, I want more creature comforts to make it easier on my old aching bones

I keep my tank full all times of the year.

At the end of each use....I always clean my tractor off, recheck oil levels, fill fuel tank. I want my equipment to be 'ready to go' the next time I need it. Just jump on it, start it and go.

If stored for extended periods...it is always best to have a full tank and fuel stabilizers/treatments.
