Fuel return lines on B2650

I need a little help. A rodent chewed through my fuel return lines on my B2650. I went to the local dealer and found the replacement hoses in the schematics, but they didn’t have on hand. They can order but it’s 10 days and 40 bucks.
So I took one of the lines to the local autozone and they gave me some 5/16 fuel hose. But is too big....

Anyone have any idea on the I/D of the B2650 fuel lines?.

Likely metric not SAE size.

However, at a guess, 7 mm is very close to 1/4"

I agree that the lines are probably metric, not sure about the B2650, but my LX2610 is made is Japan. If you think that is bad try working on a older MG. Those fine English folks didn't like SAE or metric so they came up with British Standard.:eek:

I had a Mitsubishi tractor. The fittings on my return lines broke down over time. I substituted T fittings for drip irrigation lines. They worked just fine. I suspect windshield washer hose fittings would fill the bill as well. I believe British Standard and Whitworth sizes date back to the Industrial Revolution. At some time in the sixties or seventies the British went to SAE and from there to metric. Interestingly Volvo was also SAE in the early seventies.

Did not know that about Volvo, just I was just lucky to not have worked on Volvo's that old(just 240's brick looking vehicle's).
