The front diff on my L3301 4X4 sure builds pressure. I don't see a vent. On trucks we start losing seals when the vent gets rusted shut. Thanks for any comments.
It should definitely be vented from the factory I would do a little more research and see if you find a tube running up from the axle the top end should be attached to a metal Inverted "U" shaped tube
It isn't vented. We haven't had any problems with the "L" tractors leaking. It is normal for them to build some pressure. ( sometimes they have a vacuum when you remove the plug!) We ARE having some problems with the M108s leaking from excess pressure, the cure for them seems to be lowering the oil level to 1 to 1.5 inches below the top on the final drive.
Should be able to find the vent tube from the drawing below. I would check to see if the hose is clogged with something. Maybe a mud dauber has gotten in the end of it.
Where is that diagram from? My official Kubota parts manual shows no such vent nor have I ever seen one on a "basic" L. We have never sold any "DT" models though, all ours are "h"
As stated there may not be a vent on the L front diff. I'm sure I didn't see one and will look again. If that is Kubota's design I'm ok with it. Those mud bugs have messed things up for me more than once on truck air lines. Thanks for the diagram and comments.
It is from the WSM for the L3301, L3901 and L4701. I know the parts manual doesn't show anything when I looked at it. I'll have to look on my L3901DT to see if there is one on it.

Messicks has a front axle breather kit for my L3000DT. I'm going to order it.
if this is the correct axle(1st 3301 on the parts page...)... 030 is the fill plug. You could replace with a 'vented' plug and a 90* elbow. Vented plug to me is a sintered bronze thing that scews into an NPT fitting.
