You best bet is to take the time to remove and properly clean the tank.

Removing the tank on a L2350 wouldn't be any picnic.....but would be the best way to clean it as @ North Idaho Wolfman suggests.

That way you can turn it all angles. Use abrasives and solvents if necessary and be able to dump all of that out of the filler neck.

IF you only had bad fuel to replace....then yes 'flushing' might be prove adequate.

But anytime you see 'rust'....it needs to be removed and that's not going to happen just flushing it.

You could buy something like this (see below) for $30 to carefully inspect the inside of your empty tank. Afterwards you could make a more informed decision.

I would expect that removal and complete cleaning will be required, but if there is just some very light rust - spraying the inside of the tank with acid (then flushing repeatedly) might be enough.

If it's just rust put a neodymium magnet with a wire through the center hole and swish it around and you'll get most of it out. Then put a good loop the the end of the wire near the top and leave it in the tank. The loop is so you can later hook that loop and get the magnet out. You can then pull it out from time to time to check for more material.

Here is a link to what I did with my rusted fuel tank on my L185.
in short, it rusted, cleaned it and that caused holes in the bottom, repaired with epoxy coating that lasted 6 years, replaced it with a used one from @007kubotaguy
