fluid leaking from pto shifter boot,l295dt

have a l295dt that leaks from the pto shifter boot when pto is in use,wondering if it is the gasket on the housing or just an o-ring on the boot itself? Thanks

Mine was doing that until I figured out that the vent was plugged up with a mud wasp nest. You might check that as well.

Yes just a simple O-Ring.

I second the venting problem, my l1501 was leaking
Out shift boot. Just this morning i found
A thread about it and cleaned the vent
Which was plugged solid. Worked it for an hour
And not a drop.
Mine was on top of housing under the seat,
Threaded into casting. Some i understand are
Part of the fill cap. Im not familiar with your machine,
I apologise if i lead you astray....

Thanks for the responses. I changed the o-ring, seemed to work for a while, then started leaking again. It leaks more in 2nd than in first. Also I parked it with the front sloping up ( just because thats how the driveway is) and I shifted it into 2nd and there was a bubbling noise and fluid came out from under the boot. I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of the vent so I can get an idea of what it might look like. Thanks again

I have no picture but they are usually a tube under the seat that looks like a sideways question mark. Tube size is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch diameter.

Usually on the left side near the top of the case.

You can look at the parts list on Kubota.com and see what it looks like.

The crankcase vent is usually a little black shiny plastic question-mark looking thing couple inches tall. May be missing: notorious for splitting and falling off. Oh, $13 each at dealer. Dang!

Some machines have one, two, or three. Look under seat on top of axle on both sides and stuck on top of hydraulic fill port cover.

Refer to parts schematic for idealized illustration but note the number of how many--usually just show one in artwork but parts list provides actual count.

Dirt daubers in my area play hell with these vents. I used a short piece of fuel hose and a bent piece of copper tubing with the end mashed almost flat. Allows venting (doesn't require much) and keeps bugs out. And saves $26.

Thanks again found the vent onleft side under seat, looks like sideways question mark. I got a littleof what looked like rust out with a small piece of wire. Was wondering ifyou have any better suggestion on how to clean it? How do I know if it is clean? Also how far in should I be able to push the wire? thanks again

Remove the tool box and a pair of channel locks will unscrew it. Then clean it. You really don't want any crap thats in it to get in your transmission
