I have 1600 ft of gravel road with vines, saplings and briars encroaching from both sides. What implement should I be looking at for my B2620?
Insufficient information to provide useful advise but can still advise against a sickle bar mower unless you are willing to spend the time necessary to learn how to properly operate and maintain such.I have 1600 ft of gravel road with vines, saplings and briars encroaching from both sides. I've looked at the DR. After clearing saplings and ruff stuff with a chainsaw this trimmer might just be the ticket if used on a regular basis to maintain the roadside. Thanks for useful infoA B2620 is pretty light and small to carry an offset mower. If there is slope on the road edges then it makes it more difficult.
One approach would be to use a rotary cut to get the area cleaned up, Then maintain it with a sickle bar mower. That would allow you to reach about 5 feet from the edge of the road but they are not designed to cut the nasty stuff. There is a reason they are used less and less. They require a lot of adjustment to get them set up correctly. And there is the sharpening of the blades.

This type is limited to the amount of the offset. https://sleequipment.com/dr-power-t...pcSEcBySzSmasWF-SODMYfgH_tDJlgHwaAvV6EALw_wcB
This can be set as an offset mower with a good reach. https://www.swisherinc.com/categories/trail-mowers.html
If you get the saplings removed, a sickle bar mower would work good too. They aren’t as complicated as some people like to make out and are really good light weight mowers as long as you do a little maintenance. Mowed many, many acres with them.I've looked at the DR.
