Do any Kubota front end loaders have a "float" position ? A know it all friend said all front end loaders have this...I know my after market Allied FEL doesn't have a float position. I operated many loaders, including articulated, but never noticed about a float position . Maybe I don't pay attention...:D

Truck,

Take you handle and throw it all the way forward, if it has float, it will click and stay, there is a detent that allows the lever to stay forward. Bucket will rest on the ground.(Dont do it with it up:))

Truck,

Put the loader on the ground in the position you want it to float. Then, push the handle up and you are in float position.

What tractor do you have?

Yup, my 2014 l3560 does. On the other hand my 1950 ford 8n Wagner loader does not. Wonder when they invented them? It is so handy.

Not that you asked, but if you have a 3 point hitch on the rear - most recent year tractors also have a "float" position for the 3 point hitch.

I used the FEL float position all the time - both with my bucket and the grapple, open and used as a rake.

Um...the 3PH naturally floats since there is no downpressure on it, no "position" required.

UMMM
Most, like 99.9% of tractor have always had 3 point float, only the largest and oddest models have down pressure for the three point. ;)

My loader manual says it has it but when I try it it just lifts the front wheels up.
I know squat about this stuff. Is there a valve to turn or switch to throw somewhere? A quick run thru the loader setup revealed nothing.

You have to be quick, or yes it does lift the front up. So put the bucket down on the ground and then push the joystick forward really decisively. You should feel a little click as it goes past the detente.

Or push it up as the bucket is dropping to the ground so you get the stick in the float position before the bucket contacts the ground and dont have to worry about it lifting the tractor.

My BX also has a float on the curl dump as well that I would imagine all must have. This is usefull when doing gentle grading.

My LA524 on my L3200 has float, love it.

My D-17 with a Wagner front loader does not, but will once I change out the control valve system. As for why they didn't come that way, the float option used to be very expensive on control spools, but now it only adds a few bucks.

We are actually very spoiled in what we have available to use on our little Kubota's in these later generation machines.
