I have a kubota zd18 that won't start.
When I turn the ignition to heat the glow plugs (all working) it won't heat them, I think. I know this because when I bypass the ignition and heat the plugs from the battery the zero turn starts up no problem.
I've also have issues now turning off the motor and have to reach in the engine to activate the kill manually.

goto www.kubotabooks.com and look in 'mowers' to find the ZD18 WSM.
Download it, goto 'electrical ' section, there's wiring diagram and how to troubleshoot................
Often it's a bad switch, 'mouse improved' wires, ....
Usually 'electrical' issues are a 'process of elimination'. test 'something' ,confirm it's good, take off the list, try the next 'something'....eventually you find the reason.

editted my typos..... anyone want to donate 1/4 of a finger that has nerves in it ? 'skil'saw took them away 3 year ago...

It sounds like an ignition switch problem based on your description of two issues going on. You can try spraying some WD40 into the ignition key hole and work the switch through all positions several times and see if that clears up your issue. That is the first step I would take.

Thanks. I'll try it tomorrow. Really appreciate the input from everyone.

Ended up being the controller and not ignition switch.
Of course the more expensive part.

Glad that you got the problem solved. Too bad that it was the more expensive part though. Maybe the next time something goes wrong it will be the least expensive part.
