I first will admit I am only a 3 month old Kubota 1980 B7100D owner, so give me some slack if this is a stupid question, but I am lost on the drawbar options. I have the draw bar that goes between the 3 pt hitch arms. I understand it. But I don't understand the draw bar hitch pin point under the rear axle and the hitch shown in this ebay link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...4943146&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_978wt_905 In my internet search, one dealer called it a swinging hitch, but at 13.5 inches, it seems way too short.

My reference point is the hitch that was on our 1950 8N Ford back in my farming days. It had the 3 pt hitch bar with stabilizers up to the top link attachment pin that kept it from swinging back and forth and kept the arms from moving up or down when backing up with a wagon load.

It also had a swinging arm that attached under the rear axle and rolled accross the 3 pt hitch bar and the implement attached to it behind the bar.

http://compare.ebay.com/like/200473961425?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar Similar, but not exactly. Ours had a roller that kept it captured by the 3 pt hitch bar.

Pins were put in the 3pt hit bar holes to limit how far it rolled. This latter hitch let you pull directly from under the axle, swinging or not swinging. The safest way to pull heavy loads.

Does Kubot have something similar for the B7100 or do I just adapt the 8N Ford hitch?

I have a 1980 B7100D & a 1947 Ford 8N. My Ford doesn't have the swinging drawbar/hitch that you are talking about, an option, I think. My Kubota has a "receiver" for a hitch, below the PTO, under the rear axel. I took a regular 2" hitch receiver & welded a bolt shank on each side to take up the slack & slid it into the Kubota hitch, held with a pin down through the top. Now I can insert a regular hitch piece with a ball (or a shackle for rope or chain) & tow from there without the worry of towing with the impliment drawbar on the 3 point arms getting shoved up towards the seat (& me!). Here is a link to some photos of my tractor getting some TLC when I bought it in Dec. http://s572.photobucket.com/albums/ss166/Piker_photos/Kubota B7100/
The hitch is partially obscured by the frame of a front snow plow which was made to mount in that hitch. I'll take a pic of the hitch insert I made & add it to the Photo Bucket page. The hitch can also be inserted upside down & ball then will be 5" or 6" higher.

This is the tow pintle I made to fit my B7100 receiver.I also use a Ferguson 9 hole draw bar between the lower arms which fits perfectly.

I'm a little confused about what you are wanting to know. The first link seems to be a standard style draw bar to me. The second link in for stabilizers for the 3pt hitch and the third is a different style draw bar for another tractor.

If I understand your question correctly the hitch point under the PTO is what you are confused about. If this is what you are talking about then it's the point where you pin the bar to the tractor. That first link looks just like the draw bar I had on my 7100. Can you give a few more details about what you are wanting to do or need?

Bulldog, sorry I confused you. My hitch point under the PTO looks the same as Dave's, in the above post, about 4" wide. If I pin the 2" hitch that is in the first link into this slot, it will swing back and forth. I want a stable hitch. Was the hitch on your 7100 captured so it would not swing? My only reason for referencing my experience on the 8N Ford was to say I was used to a draw bar that pinned under the PTO, but was long enough that it was supported by the bar across the 3 pt hitch arms and that bar was stabalized by stays going up to the top link pin. Did Kubota offer a longer hitch bar like what was on the 8N Ford? From the responses I am getting, it sounds like the swinging hitch you mentioned is what was intended by Kubota.

300zx, I wish I could remember more details about mine. It's been 11 yrs since that little beast was here. The hitch that's pictured looks like what mine did if I'm remember right. It was a stock hitch from Kubota. My draw bar was alot shorter than any other tractor we had so 13" is probably about what mine was. I do remember that it was sloted up under the tractor and when the draw bar was slid in there was no side to side movement. I say sloted, it was the way the rear end housing was made. It had just enough room for the bar to slide in and be pinned in place. Once you dropped the pin the movement stopped.

Bulldog, what you said about yours is what I would have expected, but my slot under the PTO is too wide to capture the draw bar, unless I modify it or add width at the pin to the 13.5" draw bar.

Tthorkil, it's is similar, but the back support was the drawbar that goes between the 3 pt hitch arms. The one in your post looks like it mounts up under the belly and the back support bolts up around the PTO on the Ford.

I think I will head to the local dealer and see what they have to say before I start fabricating my own.

Thanks for all of the input.

300zx, before I got the factory hitch I had built my own. I used the series of bolt on the rear end to mount mine. It worked fine for me. When I bought my new bachhoe is when it was changed over to the factory style. I had to have a removable draw bar for the hyd pump to mount. I'm sure you can modify yours pretty easy and make it work just fine. Good luck with it.
