Don’t know much about 3rd function stuff

Been considering adding one for the top link on 3 point. Now my 1880 has 4 connects on the right side. Am I assuming correctly you have to tap into one of the lines to do this? Do they make a 6 connect so you just add the lines to where you want to connect to? Appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

others will know but see if you can buy 'dual rear remote' kit for your tractor since you're looking at a top link upgrade, having 'tilt' would be a bonus.

usually 3rd functions are typically used for 'grapples' up front.

most 3rd functions add an 'OR' control where your lever controls A or B(say curl OR grapple ). few actually add a complete 3rd function where you can do BOTH A AND B.

Dont plan on a grapple or anything that would require additional hydraulic function up from since my 1880 is pretty small. If I would have a B series, that would be different. A hydraulic top link would be nice on the 3 point so I wouldn’t have to get off the tractor to hook up different attachments I have. Still able to hand crank the top link now but as I get older, can see this becoming an issue. Thanks for the reply

Where are these “4 connects on the right side”? Are they at the rear of the tractor or at the middle of the tractor.

I assume you are describing one valve set of two valves total (two levers) that have two couplers per valve (four total connection). You would connect one double acting cylinder (up/down or push/pull) to one set of two out of the four. Those two points must be on one valve in the set of two. That is a normal way to have rear remotes installed. There would be three connecting hoses or tubes between that valve set and the tractor that are permanent connections.

I now see in the title that you are talking about third function on the FEL valve!

I believe you could use that to power a rear cylinder but you would have hoses flopping around between the FEL valve and the rear cylinder.

It would be pretty easy to install a true rear remote valve set. They are a few hundred dollars to install. Look at FitRite Hydraulics for examples.

Kubota may make an OEM kit but I don’t know if it exists.

The factory remote valve option was a two spool monoblock. If you want a 3rd spool you will have to add another valve. Kubota does not have an option for that so you would have to roll your own. Looks real easy to plumb in - figure roughly $200 for a valve, hoses, and another set of outlets.

One trick I used for years before I got rid of silly 3PH stuff, was to bolt a top link to each implement. Once adjusted, it generally didn't need to be touched. Saved a LOT of time.....

If you want to control a top.link you dont wantca third function. Put a cheap valve back by the seat. Like I said about $200.
