I think I saw something on here about using diesel fuel to control weeds etc.
My take away was that it's not such a great idea. My neighbor is using diesel
Fuel to control rose hedges. I was under the impression that when it rained
the diesel spread a lot.

I have heard,,coff coff coff that diesel fuel and roundup work really really well on wild roses. And the diesel will to some degree leach into the soil and spread, most times it will evaporate before that happens, unless he is just dumping it on the ground at the roots then yeah it would

I know (a friend tole me so...) that Roundup cut with about 5% diesel will kill Nightshade deader than a hammer, and in dang short order too!

I had a wicked infestation of it along my fencelines.

"Had" being the operative word...

Not a terribly good idea, but how bad it is depends on how you apply it. If you can keep it all on the plant, it will mostly evaporate off, and stay out of the soil for the most part. If you get it on the ground, some of it will leach in. Of equal importance, don't tell your neighbors about it until the evidence has evaporated away. Some folks seem hell bent on creating an environmental disaster out of a fairly benign event.

You take a little diesel and a little round up .....and spray it on any "plant" on a hot day.........

and that diesel will cook it ....and the round up will kill it grave yard dead!!!!

AND if enough diesel is used.....cough-cough ....it will stay dead;)

whew.. im glad you guys said this...

cause i was afraid that if i had said it a "plant Nazi" would come in & say some unkind things about me.

my previous neighbors at my old location didnt like me oiling my driveway or using diesel on weeds..

so i had to go EPA safe & use the Glyphosate 57 from rural king..

that stuff kills but its expensive.. maybe i should ad some diesel to that in my new location..

I liked the idea of putting on a Piranha toothbar and digging out the wild rosebushes, then picking up the pile with pallet forks and taking it to the burn pile :D:D: more tractor fun to use the diesel that way...
