Kubota GF1800 front mower with a D722; 1,600 hours. Was running perfectly but I ran it out of fuel on a steep grade - fuel warning light came on, engine stalled. Added fuel, bled the lines. Fuel pressure and fuel volume are fine. Idles smooth but will not respond to the throttle. Cable and all external linkage on the pump function properly. Thinking that it is an internal problem with the injection pump. Looked in the mauals but there is very little information I can find except for R&R the the pump and set timing. Seems like it should be something simple - like me - to fix! Any advice sincerely appreciated!

sounds like you need to bleed the lines again, sounds like one of them cylinders aint hittin'
My other guess was a linkage problem, but based on your story that would be unlikely!

Thanks for your help. I bled it again - smooth idle, all cylinders firing, no response to throttle. I pulled the speed control plate off and found the aluminum housing cracked - the gasket was missing a section (someone had been in here before I bought it:eek:) so the oil leak I've been searching for has been found.

I can't be certain but it seems like the spring between the governor and speed control had popped off - would this explain no throttle response:confused: In any case, I ordered a new speed control assembly an gasket. In 7 days or so, I'll have the parts and give it another go!
