Changed transmission fluid and now bucket won’t work

Just finished a full system flush, replaced all the filters on my L3901. So signs of leaks anywhere and now my bucket won’t do anything and obviously won’t drive. Checked levels and it’s full but not overly full. It’s been running for 10 minutes or so at this point. Any ideas I could troubleshoot?

Why wont it drive? You drained fluid, replaced how many filters, and refilled with new oil?

continue to move the joystick through all motions - this will purge all air out of lines.

Why wont it drive? You drained fluid, replaced how many filters, and refilled with new oil?

yeah, drained from all four points, refilled with 6.2 gallons of hydraulic fluid, transmission filter and hat filter both replaced. No leaks anywhere and my bucket won’t lift and I put it in gear and it doesn’t want to drive either. 🤷‍♂️

I am having serious problems explaining this. Where did you add the fluid?

Good to know! I’ll give it a go when I’m back on-site tomorrow.
That is not your problem. For one the loader hydraulics have nothing to do with the HST driveline. Secondly just draining the oil does not introduce air into any of the cylindets or hoses. And thirdly the open center implement circuit purges itself immedistely upon startup.

Your symptoms suggest a complete loss of oil supply to both the implement pump and the HST pump. If there is oil in the sump I cannot envision how that can happen.

I can’t see how that would have happened either. Everything went in the correct port. Correct filters were put on the correct sides.

The loader hydraulics and the tractor HST do share the same system air in one system will cause issues with the other.

The sump is the reservoir that the oil is contained in, it's the rear end and transmission on your model.

Is the tractor an HST? because you said "I put it in gear", not normal terminology for an HST.

If you don't have a BH attached to it work the three point lever full up and full down several times, while varying the speed of the engine, from idle to medium RPM and back down.
sometimes doing both the three point and FEL controls at the same time is required.
The pump is cavitated you just need to get it sucking fluid and not air.
It happens sometimes on a full filter and fluid change.

It happens sometimes on a full filter and fluid change.
That's called loss of or failure to prime.

Other than a shared reservoir how is the implement pump related to the HST pump?

Your tractor has a common sump that holds oil for both the implement pump and the HST pump. The oil supply is stored inside the transmission, the center section, the differential, and the rear axle cases. The dipstick in front of the seat is used to monitor the level of oil in that sump. You are telling us that dipstick shows the oil level is showing on that dipstick.

Sounds like some sort of air in the system, if not wrong filter installation. NI Wolfman's instructions should resolve the issue.
The good news is...........He really drained that sucker! :oops:

Here is the diagram for oil flow in your tractor.

Implement and power steering pumps are a tandem engine mounted unit and pull their supply through filter 8 and send it to circuits A (3pt) and B (Power steering).

The HST charge circuit is supplied by the power steering return (C) and filter 8 so I now see how that is related to the implement/PS pumps.

If there is oil in the sump and the filters are functioning the implement/PS pumps should all be producing output flow and air in the lines or not the loader will move. I am guessing your power steering doesn't work as well?

Personally I would not be running this tractor until I figured out what is going on.
