Hi All,
Wondering on what your thoughts are for a larger canopy (MX5100) at a decent price. I called my local dealer and they have a Bare-Co for $500.00. That seems pretty spendy to me. It's a poly one though that is orange, and wont break like the factory fiberglass.
There is Rhino for around $300, but black.

Any other suggestions?

I will be following this thread - I have MX4800 and have been looking at canopies. I too am leaning toward the Rhino, mainly due to price, and it seems fairly well built. I like the mounting options. Wish it came in Orange, but the black doesn't look too bad. Just not sure if it will get too hot during Texas summer.

Yep, I'm leaning towards it for price too! I really want orange though :)
I wasn't too fond of the Rhino mounting, it doesn't seem like the lid gets up above the ROPS. The mounting just looks like some u bolts.
I can build one similar out of a port-a-potty panel (same material) so I fee like I have 3 levels to choose from. $20 and ghetto, $250 and not exactly what I want or $500 and exactly what I want but too expensive.
I need that $350 option LOL.
:)

Funny,

I was looking at the rhino this morning too - I like how it can be mounted, plus the placement of mirrors on it looks good too.

the price gets my attention too!:p

You guys need to keep in mind how small the Rhino canopies are. From what I have seen, they are all to small for the machines that they are often installed on.

Price is right, size is wrong. Sort of you get what you pay for situation. :(

Your comment got me thinkin' - the width of thr Rhino is 37" and length is 45"

I was gonna make one - now leaning towards buying the Rhino - the outside to outside on the BX is 41 ish .....so this would be inside that....mmmmm, not sure I like that ! On the flip note - the 45 will get you past the steering wheel, which seems to be fine.......

need to see one up close and personal!:D

One other alternative...

My roof is the Kubota fiberglass roof. I am told three manufacturers around the company make them for Kubota. One manufacturer is here in PHX. When I took mine off and saw how smashed and cracked it was, I thought about just buying a new one. I got the name of the local fabricator from my dealer and called them. They had fully repaired and re-painted fiberglass tops for $260. I don't think that came with the bracketing material but I am sure they have it and can give you a price on it. There is a small 1" frame on mine that the panel bolts to that would be easy to fabricate yourself. Check and see if one of the manufacturers is near you and give them a call. They may have re-man lids available for less.

MVR is right: A small roof is a waste of money. Mine is over 5' long and 50" wide and that is barely big enough to keep you out of the sun because the ROPS is so tall. It only partially keeps you out of the rain and with no rain gutters, you still get wet feet.

Go to a golf kart dealer, and ask if they have any damaged golf cart tops that you can have. Some orange paint, and a little ingenuity and you will have what you need, at little to no expense. If you want it orange, find some cans of cheap Chevrolet orange engine paint.
