Hi,
I am purchasing a BX25D and need to house it in a 10' x 12' shed. I have 6' gable doors so the length of the shed is 12'. Will it fit with the backhoe swung to the side? Or can I get a quick coupler and drop the bucket at the front of the shed and tuck it under the arms? Thanks!

I am gonna say no:eek:........My suggestion would be to make a hole in the back of the shed to allow the bucket to "poke" through and then fabricate a shed roof on that part of the shed.....I did this many years ago for a 5' rotary cutter, it stuck out the rear of the shed in the weather, but the tractor was "inside"

I have a 14' double axle trailer, I have to swing the hoe to one side and hang the bucket over the front a wee bit to get it to fiT!

I built my shed this summer to house my 25D....started off at 16' long......and having a little more thought - and a few more beers, I came to the conclusion that 18' was the ticket, the metal fit better any on top of that. I did NOT want to have to bend and flex each time I needed to park.....

Thanks! I don't really want to cut a hole in the shed, although it may come to that. What if I drop the bucket outside, will it fit then? I can cover the bucket. My only other option is to relinquish my 16 foot single car garage, which will make my Jetta mad. Thanks again.

I just measured my BX2360 with 4 ft box scraper mounted on 3ph. Same tractor, figure the box scraper similar to space for the 'hoe. The box extends 42" from rear tire. Just not sure if the 42" is enough to drop the hoe down.

Total length - almost 14' with bucket curled down (tooth bar is sharp)
Length of tractor & box - almost 11' including grille guard

Here's a visual of mine with box scraper on. The your top BH boom will extend out when you drop the bucket to the floor - just don't know how much.

Good luck!!

Just measured my bx25 for you.

You have 4 choices.......

If you take the backhoe off, the bx will fit in your shed with the FEL

If you take the front loader off (arms and all), and turn your backhoe - the bx will fit

You could keep it outside all together

You could buy/build a bigger shed/garage :D

For a quick fix look at the garage in a box shelters. A 13 foot by 20 by 10 foot high will set you back $400. Shelterlogic is the brand.

Bob,

this question has been fielded many times - and several answers have come up! AND more questions arise after that.

In the category of "what should I buy" vs "will this work" a lot of crazy answers come up too.

Your tractor has two axles - that should be a given - period. Need to have brakes on one of those !

Not sure how you plan on loading it on your trailer - but you must always load more weight forward of the center line of the axles, the tongue of the trailer needs to be loaded. Otherwise you will get a harmonic sway that will end badly.

Make sure you have several tie down points - and most use chains, many use 2" straps. More of both is better than a couple. Many states require the bucket and hoe to be "locked" down too.

THe man delivered my BX-25D on a 12' single axle trailer.....I would have guessed it to never to have made it for those 20 miles! Then when he rolled it off the trailer, his truck's rear end came off the ground due to the lack of trailer supports!

However you do it - be safer than you think you need to be!
