Hi, all. New to this forum and looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing. I recently purchased a BX24 with 390 hours. The machine is in very nice condition, always garaged and seemingly well maintained with the exception of the draft control knob which is seized solid. There's never been a mmm and seldom has the backhoe ever been off. I just bought a pto driven chipper and I have the new 3pt hitch never having been installed. It lifts and lowers fine so I'm not having a problem but I would like to un seize the knob. I've soaked what I can visibly see with PB Blaster but nothing yet. Any advice and suggestions much appreciated.

Update.....a couple hours later after soaking in penetrating oil it broke loose. Back in service. Thanks

The only knob I can think of is the one below your left calf. That's the depth stop for the mowing deck. If you don't have a belly mower, that knob has no affect on the operations of the 3ph.

The BX, B and standard L as standard don't have draft control. The BX has position control lever which controls 3 point height. So with that I assuming that you are talking rate of drop knob between your legs when you are sitting?

Well if its moving up/down that is a good sign. So it would be safe to assume the direction you would want to turn it is clockwise. Maybe a few light raps with a tapometer (small hammer) and a pair of pliers and a rag on knob to try and get it moving. Failing that pour some boiling water on it. It will heat casting up.

Im guessing mine is similar but I have a 3pt speed control knob and mmm hieght knob. The last one has to have the 3pt all the way up to turn, I believe clockwise too. It can be a pain in the a$$.

Ok, I found the knob is actually called the 3-point hitch lowering speed knob so I messed up. Since my post I found similar suggestions of how to fix it. I've soaked it with penetrating oil and was able to get channel locks on the shaft rather than the knob but it is still stuck. Going to continue with the penetrating oil and some hammer knocks in hopes it will eventually come loose. Thanks for the help.
