My new BX2360 may have a problem. When I set the PTO clutch lever to "off" it moves the PTO shift lever from the "rear PTO only" position to half way between the "rear only" and "both middle and rear". This movement also takes the PTO out of the "rear only" mode and can cause a little grinding noise if I try to put the clutch lever all of the way to "off". Is this normal? I called my dealer, but he does not have a BX2360 in stock at the moment to check. I have 9.5 hours on the tractor and I don't remember these levers interacting the last time I used it. Nothing seems to be bent, but there is an adjustment to the angle of the shift lever that may have changed.

Never mind, I discovered my problem. The PTO shift lever arm that connects to the shift rod is bent and causing the two lever arms to hit each other. A new part has been ordered. I am mowing some very rough terrain in MT with a Lands Pride 42" brush cutter. I am mowing two foot high bunch grass with piles of shale and tree stumps/limbs on the ground. The brush cutter has already taken some dings due to hitting rocks. I will be able to let you know about the durability of the Lands Pride cutter by the end of the season. I am guessing that I ran over a tree limb that jammed between the inside of the left tire and the lever and bent the linkage.

If you are mowing that rough a area where there is danger of brush poking up at your tractor you should seriously consider installing a guard to protect the HST fan from damage. There is one available from kubota or you might fabricate your own. It is a considerable job to replace that fan if you damage it, not to mention the potential damage to the Hydro if you operated the tractor with a damaged fan. If you were using a belly mower the potential to damage it would be much less.
