I replaced a bad starter and now a Ground wire from a group of spliced junction to the frame keeps overheating. Replaced starter and bad wire. Still heating up Ground to frame. Any suggestions???

Make sure that the ground connections are clean and corrosion free. Many times the corrosion is under the wire covering where you can't see it. Check the wire/cable with an ohm meter to determine its resistance. When a wire gets hot, that means that it can't handle the current that you are putting through it.

I don't know how your starter grounds to the frame. Usually with a car the starter mounting bolts provide the ground. Surfaces should be clean and tight. If you replaced a bad wire be sure the replacement wire is the same size as the original or larger. If the junction is heating I suspect a poor connection - either loose or dirty. Check your wiring again.

Resistance checks of the wire can be inconclusive. Need to do a voltage drop test before touching anything.

Took starter out and jumped started from tractor battery. Starter never got enough RPM, high current draw. Another bad starter? Will have a load test on battery. Thanks for your assistance. 👍

do you have a DVOM (volt meter)? If so, take one lead and put on the positive battery terminal. Take the other lead and put it on the starter lug where the cable from battery attaches. Crank the engine and watch the voltage. If you have more then .5 volts then you have high resistance in the positive cable. If that’s good do the same from negative terminal to the frame.
