Hi All:

I was doing a complete service on my 2000 BX22. I took off the hydraulic filter then inadvertently took out the PTO relief spring and check ball. Oil was drained. I was able to put the ball and spring back in, fill with UDT and a Kubota filter. Fluid level is at the top line on the dip stick. I start the tractor to circulate the fluid and immediately hear a pop and fluid is running out from the filter. The filter is expanded and I can just pull it off the housing without turning it.

I do have the service manual and I have talked to the service department at the local Kubota dealer. They want me to either bring it in or they will send a tech out.

Before I go that route any ideas of where else to look?

Thanks for the input in advance.

My guess is that you didn't get the check valve back in properly, and that it built up a pressure that was higher than the oil filter could handle. Either that, or you just got a defective oil filter. Pressure relief valves can be a major problem if you don't get them back in properly.
