Seems if I hold forward on the lever it'll stay engaged. Otherwise it's hit or miss. But it bounces in and out of 4WD both uner load and not.

Suggestions ??

there lies the problem!

So ........ let do some math, when tractor is new - the ratio front to rear is spot on.......

over time the fronts wear out faster than the rears???? WHY - more revs per distance and more turning and because the front "pull" the rears - read up on why that is important in turns.

SO - THEY wear faster ..... the rears are getting smaller too - SO when new fronts are put on, they are "bigger" than before - simply because they have not been worn equally to the rears.

DID you replace with exact same size?

YOU using 4wd on a hard surface?

Buncha variables.

The tractor came with turf tires. But I've had heavy duty chains on the rears almost since day 1. So, the rears really havent worn down any appreciable amount.

I replaced the fronts with the same size..... but R1 ag tread from closeout stock at an old Kubota dealership.

The jumping occurs on most any type of surface, really.
