Just bought as acreage, and it included an older BX1500. Its starts and runs fine(almost fine, needs a new fuel cutoff solenoid), but literally does nothing else. I've got copies of owners & service manuals, but thought I should ask what would be the best place to investigate the issue. Checking the trans/hydraulic fluid level shows ok. I'm hoping I get lucky and its something simple that I'm missing thats not engaged, or a sticky internal valve or something? Please point me in the right direction. Cheers

When you say nothing else - does it move? 3 point raise? If it has FEL - does it move?

Fill in the blanks for us as to what it does NOT do.

Yea more info would help.

If it's just not moving then is it possible the range lever is in neutral.

It an LA181 loader attachment. It has a center mount mower not currently attached. Sorry, I thought "literally does nothing else" was clear enough. lol. It literally does nothing no matter what position I put any lever in. And I've moved every lever. I can see the prop shaft with fan spinning underneath. I'm suspecting linkage issue or some hydraulic valve problem? Was hoping someone may have a clue where to start looking on a FULLY non-functioning tractor that runs. Thank you

To be clear:
1. You engage the PTO, with the PTO lever set to the rear PTO, and the shaft doesn't spin?
2. You move the loader controls, the loader doesn't move, no change in noises, nothing trying to move?
3. You press the HST pedal, no change in noise, no movement?

You've checked the range lever is in L or H? If you engage the PTO clutch and get out of the seat, does the tractor stop (indicating the seat switch is working)?

I honestly only messed with it for 15 minutes. It fired right up, and I pushed/pulled and stepped on every possible lever and pedal with nothing in response. No noises occurred other than the engine running. I'm away working for a couple weeks, then I plan to dig into it when I'm home again. Figured I'd look for ideas on a starting point. Thanks

Usually you're going to have to go through it systematically and slowly, and give good info to us so we can give good ideas back.

What you're describing could have lots of causes, particularly if we're not clear that you know how to run the machine:
- if it's just not moving, could be not in gear. There's a range selector as well as the HST pedal
- if the 3pt and the loader don't move, that means something different, probably a hydraulic issue
- if the PTO doesn't turn, that could be related to it not moving, or you not knowing how to run the PTO clutch

The problem is that when you give no details and just say "I moved every lever" it's hard for us to tell if you know what you're doing - do you know there's a range selector? Do you know where the PTO clutch is and what it should do?

So we're stuck with whether you're a real newbie (no shame in that, we've all been there), or someone who knows tractors well but just didn't express yourself well. And that's super hard to give you the right assistance without sounding condescending.

I get your point, I wasn't clear that, yes I know how to operate it. And no, nothing happens as I moved levers, HST pedal and pto into positions where things should be working. Even if I was clueless, a blind squirrel eventually finds a nut by yanking on everything. If nothing at all functions, I was thinking there has to be a common denominator for all systems to fail. Cheers

If you have no movement and no PTO action, then you might need to double check that the propshaft with the fan is actually spinning the input shaft of the HST.
