I applied Brushtox (triclophor) on some thickets and pricker vines. Some of the leaves have turned brown and black and fallen off. Others are all wilted good bit, but still green. Considering these things are Satan's own invention, I know if the roots are still good they'll come bback. The application was about 3 weeks ago.
So my question- is the stuff dead and just don't know it? Should I wait till they all are leafless sticks?
Full disclosure: I did not use dish soap in the mix. Or any other surfactant. I'm wondering if the green ones didn't get a high enough dose and they will recover.

Would another round of spray be warranted - just to make sure those that are green turn brown?

3 weeks is plenty long enough to wait. Roundup is 24 hours after application to cutting time. After 3 weeks, cut it down and if you get any regrowth, then spot spray. Spray will be more effective and less used on regrowth, than spraying again now.

Don't know what the conditions were like when you sprayed, but I've found I get the best results from any kind of herbicide to spray when it's hot (>85 F), sunny, and preferably no rain for at least a couple days. Sounds like you'd benefit from another spraying. If you've still got green, it ain't dead.

That's what it's sounding like when the voices in my head talk to me. Thinking I'll do this first 👇

Good idea there. If it sprouts, I'll spray an ounce! I did use the ATV sprayer first. Spot treatments will use a lot less product to tidy up things. I'll also be sure to add some dish detergent this time.

I use Brushtox. A couple weeks after spraying should be more than enough. Question: What mixing rate do you use? The directions are not very clear. I am using about 1 oz/gallon and get decent results.

Next time, consider Crossbow. It has triclopyr and 2-4d. And, yeah, add surfactant.

Weeeelllll.... the wife mixed it. I told her 2oz per gallon for 5-6 gallons in the tank. We know there is a difference between a woman's measurements and a man's. 🤪

Did a "test" case this afternoon. Measured 2 oz in a gallon for the pump sprayer. Did about 1200 Sq ft. No rain forecasted for a couple days.

Then how many gallons per acre?
I am spot spraying brush. I just get the weeds wet. Weeds are few and far between in a back meadow, thick in property line fence row. I am spraying multifloura rose, blackberry, bittersweet, grapevine, autumn olive, tree of heaven, bradford pear, honey locust saplings, bush and vine honeysuckles and several other vines and briers I haven't ID'd yet.

Update:
Forgot to update this thread sooner. Looks like they are still dead after mowing down. Guess the juice did its thing at the root level. The areas I did not mow over, leaves continues their decline. It seems that it can take a month or 5 weeks for full effect. Slower, but more deadly to vines than Round Up.
