B7800 getting hot!

Does this tractor usually run hot? I've been working it pretty hard and have to clean the radiator and screen even the air filter after ever use from grass. Takes about 40-60min for it took get all the way up to H on the temp monitor. When it does i take off all the load from the engine. Is it better to just park it when it's hot or let it idle?

It was reading hot when i tuned off the engine i could hear radiator gurgling sounds. I will check the radiator level once it cools down.

The tractor, any tractor, is designed to be able to maintain a proper coolant temp when putting out its rated horsepower and operating in a warm climate.
You first need to establish that your gauge and sensor are operating properly.
What are you doing that is affecting the air filter after every use?
What transmission does your tractor have?

In addition to what Dave said, what do you exactly mean by hot? Is the temperature shown on the gage all the way up to max, or less?

I have a B2910, the same tractor as yours but with deluxe features, so I am curious, but otherwise can’t offer much help.

I have a b7800 lived a hard life I believe with numbers on the loader I believe it was a rental. Sat outside for 6+ years in the open before I bought it. but it is running perfect and on over 100 degrees never went past 1/2 mark. only things wrong small hyd. oil leak and the steering can be a little vibrationy if thats a work. I would want to know first if it really hot with a mechanicl reading gauge in the engine.

It uses a HST. Been mowing tall grass brush hog and the seeds or whatever clog up the front. I do not let it get into the red zone on the temp gauge but it gets close. The radiator fan works could use a new belt.

Two things you can do - clean the reverse flow of the radiator, then do it again - compressed air works well, water will cake some of the small stuff up and make it harder to get that chaff out.

Then drain radiator and add some vinegar 50% with distilled water and run it hard- drain, due it again, flush with straight water and run again. What does temps do after three flushes?

IF problem gets better - drain and used distilled water and your normal antifreeze at 50-50
