Hello all,
I have a b7100 with a factory FEL, I noticed the tilt cylinders were bent on it so I decided to change them, they i believe were 18” long pin to pin, i put on new cylinders that are 20” pin to pin, now the roll back angle of the bucket is not very good, not enough to keep a decent load in the bucket. I was thinking I would just weld on some bracket extensions at the top of the bucket, for the tilt cylinders to mount to that way I get more roll back, but I’m not sure if that would even help. Any advice would be appreciated!

See how long the old cylinders were when compressed and extended. Make the same measurements for the new ones. That will give you the travel distances necessary for mew mounts - or show you whether that will solve your problem.

You really should have gotten 18" cylinders, add in 2 inches is problematic.

Moving the cylinders up on the bucket will reduce the roll back even more, you would need to move them down but doing so would reduce roll back strength tremendously, along with most likely interfering with clearance.

If your really dead set on keeping the wrong cylinders, you would need to move the upper (boom) mounting point up 2 inches.

I see, unfortunately for where I am there’s not really one store that carry’s hydraulic cylinders, i could probably move them up on the boom without any issue since I have space up top.
