I am looking for a replacement rubber boot for our "new to us" 6000E. I Google it and get references to one for the M models.
1. Will the part interchange?
2. If not, what have any of you done if you needed to replace the boot?

The one I have isnt all that bad and could likely be made to last a bit longer with flexseal.... but if rather try to source one ahead of the part failing, if possible. Thanks!

A B6000 is a grey market tractor, so a Kubota dealer won't have a listing for that tractor. However, you could determine what other models might very well fit (for example a B6100) and order it from a Kubota dealer. That part number is 66591-18420 and they call it a shift change main cover.

You could probably easily measure the OD of the shift lever and go to a local store either an automobile supply or a tractor supply and find a rubber boot that would be a snug fit and work fine.

Ok, I stand corrected. Not Grey market tractor.

If you do get the boot from a dealer, it's 29 bucks. Just bought one for one of my M's. I consider it important as a torn boot will allow water and junk to enter the transmission of the unit is outside in the weather.

29 bucks is a bit pricey but a trans rebuild from water ingression is lots more.

Wow, lots cheaper than what I just paid for the one that fits my M9HD but mine did come with the 2 spring clips as well.
