i recently purchased a second B1700 HSD that came with a B2650 Blower. My other B1700 HSD has a B2550B Blower. When i purchased the B2650 the first stage augers were turning clockwise pushing snow out of the housing. B2550B turn counter clockwise and works just fine. The second stage auger on the B2650 turns the proper direction counter clockwise. I'm wondering if it was possible to install the wrong worm gear. To buy a replacement non returnable worm gear is over $330.00. Any help is appreciated.

Many blowers have a left and a right auger. They may have reversed those (put the left on the right, and right on the left side).
That was my original thought that they just got installed backwards.I wish someone could confirm if the first stage shaft turns counter clockwise. Thanks

Yes all of them are designed with the same rotation, it's a standard.
Same for all recent PTO driven equipment, no matter who makes it, it will turn the same direction.
If the blower is going in the right direction then it's the augers that have been installed wrong.
Direction is the question that i need to figure out. Which is the correct direction for the rotation of the first stage shaft? This one is currently turning clockwise. I believe it should be counter clockwise. For the blower to function properly to pull snow in from bottom then into middle. The only you tube video i could find of a B2650 blower in action seems to show it turning counter clockwise. Can't find that blower in the Canadian web site, but the B2655 (is it similar to the B2650?) is made almost the same as my front mounted BX2750D. The drive shaft rotation is counter clockwise as viewed from the drivers seat. reduction is by a chain drive in a box at the back of snowblower, behind the fan housing.
A clue is where the chute is mounted (which side of center). Obviously the fan has to turn to expel the snow in that direction.

The second stage auger turns the the correct way as you have described counter clockwise. It's the first stage shaft that i'm having the problem with since it is turning clockwise when looking at the left side sitting in seat facing forward on tractor. I think it should turn counter clockwise.
Is it possible the augers are installed on the wrong side thus making them appear to be rotating backwards
The parts info shows left and right side augers. Put them on the wrong side and that may be your problem
I have not spent the time going through the mental image in my head but that is my first thought. Worm gear is not the answer for certain.

My brand new bx5450 blower was doing the same thing. It just pushed the snow and didn't pull it in. I pulled the sheer pins and rotated the augers 180 degrees. I can't tell you why it worked, but it did. Give it a try, it's easy enough to do.
