The plastic cover in the center of the floor board, of my B2601, is mounted with two pins and two notches in the tin. These mounting points are at the rear with nothing but gravity holding the cover elsewhere. My problem is that the sharp bottom edge will catch in the edge of my shoe and often pops off the cover when dismounting. In my opinion, this is a poor design for a piece of equipment that is expected to be used for actual work.

What I just tried was to add Trim-Lok edge trim to eliminate the sharp edge and close the gap a bit. I don't know if it will work given the minimal mounting of this thing.

Well, it is a deluxe tractor. You could have gotten an L2501, and you'd just have a metal hump like me. ;). You also have to give up some creature comforts.

It will be interesting to see what others do about that kind of edging issue. I'd probably glue the trim on.

The floor mat goes over that plastic piece and helps hold the cover in place. I think if you look at other tractors like yours you will see how the mat covers the cover.

My B2601 floor mat also goes over the hump. Someone probably tucked it underneath to hold the mat in place.

The rubber floor mat and the plastic cover have very little overlap, they both end about the same place. I just tried to move the mat "above" the cover and the left side does curl up the cover a small amount, the right side just flops down to the metal floor.
