I have a B7200HST-D w/ a B1640 loader. The relief valve cartridge broke today. Someone previously replaced a worn pin w/ a nut/bolt combo, that just contacted the relief valve cartridge on the valve block, and it snapped/broke. Replacement cost is over $300 for just that part. Since most of the pins are worn on the valve, figured if it is feasable, maybe replace the whole unit w/ an aftermarket unit. Does anybody have any suggestions or a good unit off of a 1640 loader that they would part with. There is a diff. in the 1630 to the 1640 w/ relief cartridge pressures according to the parts manual. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Is it a Husco control valve? I may know where there is one possibly available.:D

I went through hell getting my Kubota/Husco control valve fixed.... It was worth the effort.

I will have to look at the tag more carefully. I just assumed that the controllers were all the same for those units(loaders). There is a tag on it, and when I get home I will look for the numbers.
I was possible looking at this one:

if it will work, just concerned about plumbing into existing lines, and don't have a price on it yet. Sunday night web browsing.

Ram.... may not need to change control valves. If it is a Husco the issue is most likely on the outer lower part of the valve.... the parts that are held in place by 4 hex allen screws. What I have found this is the Achilles heal of the Husco control valve because water get in and cannot escape. Corrosion causes a distortion of the spool shaft causing just the problem you described.

If you have a Husco control valve.... and I am betting a left nut you do:eek:, this is where your issue lies/ Do a search on this site for Husco control valves and you'll find a thread that will assist you in correcting your problem.

Mime is fixed and I make it a chore to service the lower spring covers of my valve EVERY six months. You won't find that in any Kubota manual.

Let us know what you find out.... Butch.

I took the snapped relief valve off of the loader valve block and brought it to a friend who compressed the two halves together in a vise and mig welded it together. Works like it did before it broke. So I guess that is one problem rectified.
BTW, it does not say HUSCO anywhere on the loader valve block. There is a plate on it, but it just has numbers, and no brand name associated w/ it.
Thanks for all the help.

I tried to replace my kubota 1640 loader valve with a aftermarket Danfoss and it did not work. The owner of the company where I bought the valve told me that Kubota has Danfoss make a special circuit in the valve used by Kubota only. This is why the valve is 600.00 or more from Kubota.

Good luck!

Well, I did order the valve from the one in my earlier post. Two(2) month "build time" before I see it. I'll post back up once I get it, and its hooked up.

provided you ordered the power beyond cartridge to go with the valve, you should gave no trouble plumbing it up. There is nothing unique about Kubota's hydraulic system that would make it require a special valve.

Ram... Eserv is 100% correct. The hydraulics ain't special.... I replaced my neighbor's FEL control valve with a Prince single lever control valve. It took a little modification to the tractor mounting plate (30 min. max) and a couple of SAE hex head bolts.... and it works like a charm:D. We ordered the prince with power beyond capabilities ans an adjustable pressure relief by-pass.:) and regen dump spool.

The best thing is:eek:... parts will always be available for it AND it cost him less than $350.00 plus shipping. Kubota wanted $700+ for a replacement OEM valve.

Well, I know it's been a while, but I wanted to add that the loader valve works like a charm. I'm very happy with the craftsmanship and ease of use. Everything works as it is supposed to, and for the money I couldn't be happier. Would definately recommend one.
