Any one know how to decipher the new 17 character Kubota serial number?

I'd like to know the meaning of each character placement and the meaning each character in the placement.
Better yet, a tool like the automotive vin decipher tools online.

Thanks for the effort, but the decoder really doesn't work.
In the past I've found many online vin decoders that claim to work
and just provide sequence production numbers. Which are
usually the last digits in any serial/vin number.
The engine serial number info doesn't really apply to the chassis.
I have in the past used the emission label on the engine to
try and figure out the year of construction. There is usually a
three month "window" from the engine mfg date to instillation in
the tractor, using the engine serial number of course.
For some reason the Kubota Illustrated parts list does not recognize the new serial numbers...real nice.
John Deere serial numbers are easily understood, no Mystery there.
Just can't understand why Kubota forces individuals to call and bother the dealer every time a construction date is needed, it's so arcane.

I have always understood that Kubota serial numbers had no meaning. They were sequential, and Kubota merely used the next number in sequence. On the other hand, engines do have a code and you can look up an engine's production using the code. If this is a new system, would you please share the tractors first sale date. That is generally accepted as the date a tractor is aged from.

for any number of products. B series, L series, whatever. Was truly a
nuts way of keeping track of the origin of a tractor.
For instance serial number 53764 actually is used on 70 different
pieces of equipment. When you call the dealer they will ask you
the serial number and the only way they can identify parts is to
ask what the equipment model number is....just crazy.

Hello GSW911. I believe that the picture you supplied is a picture of a Canadian tractor. The abbreviation at the bottom of the label is " Canadian Interference Causing Equipment Standard" followed by the particular standard designation. I am sure that all those letters have a meaning. Perhaps one of our Canadian friends can help you with this.

The photo I supplied was for illustration purposes.
Seeing as the new Vin/serial number has only been around
on kubota tractors for just over a year, most owners haven't
seen the new Identification labels. Just wanted folks to know
what I was referring to. But thanks for the input.

Well GSW911,
You really have made me curious. I can't find any information anywhere on how to decode the number. It appears to be a 17 digit Vin, but it doesn't seem to follow standard vin nomenclature. . The last five would seem to be the production sequence. After that, I am at a loss. I hope that another member has some information, because I really would like to know the answer.

That makes perfect sense to me... means they've made more than 53,764 units of 70 types of products...

so where's the problem ?

You are certainly correct in what you are saying. I think that what we are curious about is the translation of the nomenclature preceding the production sequence number. Would you happen to have any information on that?
